Write down your new three-number combination and store it in a safe place for later reference.

Turn your briefcase so the combination lock faces you. Locate the lever or button adjacent the lock.

Depress the button or lower the lever. If your briefcase has a button, hold the button down while you change the three dials to the numbers you have chosen for your new combination.

Release the button or move the lever to its original position. Your new combination is now set.
