Call United Airlines reservation services (within the United States) at (800) 864-8331. When the automated system answers, you can say, "Customer service," to be connected with an agent.
Provide the agent with your voucher number and the reservation you want to book, including dates and times you want to travel. You can research itineraries on the United website (see Resources).
Check your e-mail to get your e-ticket confirmation when you're done booking. United issues tickets electronically, so unless you request them, you will not receive paper tickets in the mail. Your voucher is now canceled and you cannot reuse or duplicate it for further travel.
Return your free, paper-based ticket voucher to United. You can mail the voucher to United Airlines Discount Certificates, P.O. Box 6046, Dearborn, MI, 48121. You can also take the free ticket voucher to an airport ticket counter.
