If you have purchased a ticket and would like to change it, first go to the airline's website to see if this is possible. Most airline websites have a tab or button on the homepage that reads "view or change reservations." You will need your confirmation number to access your reservation.
After you have entered your name and confirmation number, you should be given the option to view, cancel or change your reservation. Select the option to change your reservation. If given the option online, follow the steps to select a new flight.
Once you have selected your new flight, click "continue" to get the new price for the ticket and the cost of any flight-change fees or ticket-price differences. You should be given this price before you decide to complete the ticket-reservation change.
Some airlines do not allow you to change your tickets online. If this is the case or the price of the ticket change you saw online is too high, call the airline right away to speak with a customer-service representative about your other options.
