Go to the Delta Airlines website. If you have a SkyMiles number, click "SkyMiles Login" to log in. If you do not, click the "My Trips" icon.
Provide your confirmation number and full name to pull up your itinerary. The confirmation number for your current flight will have already been emailed to you. You can also use the credit card you used to purchase your ticket to pull up your information, or the eTicket number if you have it.
Select "Change Flight" once your itinerary comes up. Search and select a new flight you want to replace your current flight with.
Pay the change fee. Once you have selected a new flight, you will be shown the price of your current ticket, the price of the new flight and the change fee. You will have to pay the difference of the flight and the change fee. If the new flight costs more than than your old flight, the difference will be subtracted from the change fee charged. As of November 2010, the change fee is $150 dollars for flights within the United States. For international flights, the fee is usually $250, but can vary. Call Delta if you need to change an international flight.
Call Delta if you are making a same-day travel change. If you only need to change the time you fly and not the date or destination, call Delta airlines within three hours of your original departure time. For example, if you have 2 p.m. flight, but you need a 4 p.m. flight, call Delta after 11 a.m. to make the change request. If you can be accommodated, the charge is $50, which can be paid over the phone.
