How to Change a Flight Booking With British Airways

The airline ticket has been booked and you're ready for travel. An unanticipated event pops up, someone falls ill or plans change. It happens to the most seasoned traveler and it could happen to you. If your ticket booking is with British Airways, a few simple steps on the computer or a quick phone call could have you re-booked in no time.

  Locate your booking paperwork. You will need your six character booking reference along with the credit card you used to book your ticket.

  Look through your booking paperwork for any rules and regulations specific to your ticket. Some tickets may have a section of conditions for the ticket class that you purchased. This section will outline any fees and fare differences subject to your ticket.

  Log on to Britishairways.com, the official site of British Airways. Click on "Manage My Booking" at the top. Type in the booking reference and the passenger's last name. This section of the British Airways site is where all booking changes can be made.

  Call the British Airways U.S. customer service center at 1-800-AIRWAYS (1-800-247-9297) if you do not have access to the Internet or if you cannot change your ticket online. If you booked your ticket with an independent travel agent, contact the agency to change your booking. The agent will handle all of the details.
