How to Become a Registered Traveler

The United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) piloted a program called "Registered Travelers" (RTs) The members are able to expedite their processing through the TSA's screening process. The pilot program helped set security standards and practices that are used in airports across the United States today. RTs are issued unique ID cards that are used at airport identification checkpoints. Currently, the RT program is shut down by the government, but continues to operate as a market-driven program that's funded by both private and public sector funding sources at certain airports.
