Cheyenne Frontier Days (CFD) Rodeo is an annual event that celebrates Cheyenne and the history of Western American pioneering. At 8:00 AM, the day begins. There is a Timed Event Slack, in which participants compete in roping, racing and wrestling events. The CFD Old West Museum opens as well, offering visitors educational exhibits and activities related to the history of the American West. At the same time, there is a Western Art Show, in which artists bring their works to the museum, discuss them and socialize with the public. These events run until 8:00 PM. On top of educational and art exhibits, there are carnivals with rides and games, a saloon, parades, a model Native American village and an as-yet-unannounced Night Show.
Every year in November, the Cheyenne Symphony holds its annual Symphony Ball. Recent Symphony Balls took place at the Little America Grand Ballroom. Guests at the Symphony Ball must make reservations either as individuals or as corporate groups; reservations for the 2010 event cost $110 per person. The event includes drinking, dance, live music such as classical or big band, and wine that can be pre-ordered. There is also a silent auction. For guests coming in from out of town for the Symphony Ball, showing a ticket may earn a discounted hotel room in some local hotels.
The Cheyenne Little Theatre Players, founded in 1930, is a non-profit organization presenting community theatre to Wyoming, northern Colorado and western Nebraska.
