  1. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade

    • The Martin Luther King Jr. Parade celebrates the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The parade is held on the 17th of every January at 10 a.m. in the downtown area of Las Vegas between 4th Street and Ogden. The parade features floats and marching bands and ends with an award ceremony that honors people within the community who are continuing with Dr. King's 'dream.' The parade committee encourages people to march and charges $125 as an admission fee per group. For those just wishing to watch the parade, the committee encourages people to be in the downtown area early in order to find a viewing point.

    High Roller Super Bowl

    • The High Roller Super Bowl is held each Super Bowl weekend in January at the Showboat Casino Hotel, where visitors can enjoy free buffets and the chance to win prizes. The hotel is decorated with different Super Bowl memorabilia, as well as large screen televisions so patrons can watch the game. The hotel also features gaming machines as well as a full bar that serves a large selection of beers, wines, cocktails and other specialty drinks.

    Las Vegas Antique Arms Show

    • The Las Vegas Antique Arms Show is held each January at the Riviera Hotel and Casino. The show highlights the nation's leading antique firearms and gives participants an opportunity to mingle with certified arms dealers. The arms show began in 1962 by a Las Vegas gun collector who used the show to increase business opportunities. Today, participants can find over 600 exhibiters, 12 collector organizations, gun and knife manufacturers and thousands of collectors and specialists. As of 2010, participants can purchase a daily admission ticket for $15 or a three-day pass of $35.
