Instructions

Determine if your firearm meets the special restriction requirements of Delta Air Lines. The quantity of total firearms can not exceed 11 pounds. Each firearm must be unloaded and securely locked in its own manufacturer's hard-sided container. Gunpowder is not permitted.

Inform the Delta representative, at check-in, that you are checking a firearm. The firearm must be unloaded, and you will be required to complete a deceleration verifying that the firearm is unloaded. The representative will take the locked firearm case to be checked with other luggage beneath the plane. You will retrieve the firearm at your final destination.

Ensure the legality of your firearm at your final destination. Some countries, such as the United Kingdom, will require passengers to obtain a special permit before bringing firearms into the country.
