Youngest Person to Summit Mount Everest: Jordan Romero (Age 13, 2010)

Jordan Romero (USA) reached the summit on May 22, 2010, at 13 years, 10 months, 10 days. He climbed with his father Paul Romero, stepmother Karen Lundgren, and three Sherpas (Ang Pasang, Lama Dawa, Lama Karma). Guinness World Records certified the achievement.

The Climb

North Ridge route (Tibet side)—avoids Khumbu Icefall (South Side's deadliest section). Used supplemental oxygen. Spent 3 nights at Advanced Base Camp (6,400 m) for acclimatization. Summit push: 10 hours from Camp 3 (8,300 m).

Controversy and Policy Response
