If you have a choice in locations for your trip, you may be able to save a few hundred dollars by traveling to a location that offers cheaper cars. For example, Orlando, Florida is one of the more expensive rental locations because it's one of the highest-volume car rental cities. Traveling to Tampa instead may result in a cheaper rental car.
Search Cheaptickets.com. Under the top menu, select "Cars and Rail." Enter your destination and the dates of travel. The website will perform a search for you and will come back with options from all the major rental brands.
Search Rentalcars.com. This site is dedicated to rental cars only. They serve 14 major brands. Enter your destination and date information on the home page of the site and they will come up with a list of available rental options.
Search Expedia.com. Under the top menu, select "Cars." Enter your destination and the dates of travel. The website will perform a search for you and will come back with options from all the major rental brands.
Compare prices. Using the search results from the three sites, select the lowest priced option.
Rent the car. Enter your personal and travel information. Enter your credit card number and receive a confirmation number back immediately as well as in your email box.
