He made four trips across the Atlantic Ocean from Spain aiming to reach East and South Asia, but instead landed in the Caribbean and Central America, becoming the first European to make contact with the Americas after the Vikings.
Ferdinand Magellan: Portuguese explorer who led the first expedition to circumnavigate the world (completed by Juan Sebastian Elcano after Magellan was killed). He navigated through the Strait of Magellan, discovered the Pacific Ocean, and reached the Mariana Islands.
Neil Armstrong: American astronaut and the first human to walk on the moon. He was the commander of the Apollo 11 mission, which landed on the moon on July 20, 1969.
