  1. Smooth Jazz Cruise

    • The Smooth Jazz Cruise visits three different islands.

      Initiated in 2004, the Smooth Jazz Cruise offers music enthusiasts two weeks of jazz on the sea. The 2011 event will feature recognized artists such as saxophonist David Sanborn, guitar player Jonathan Butler and vocalist Brian McKnight. Departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Holland America's Noordam cruise ship will stop at four different ports of call: Nassau, Bahamas; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; Tortola, British Virgin Islands and Half Moon Cay, c. Depending on the stateroom chosen and when it is booked, tickets for the 2011 cruise range from $1,750 per person to $7,500 per person. As of August 2010, there are a few cabins remaining for the 2011 cruise. The 2012 cruise will go from Fort Lauderdale to Nassau, St. Thomas, St. Barth's and Half Moon Cay. The cruise ship will be Holland America's Westerdam.

    The Jazz Cruise

    • The 2011 Jazz Cruise will feature Nnenna Freelon.

      Celebrating its 10th anniversary in January 2011, the Jazz Cruise will take place January 30 through February 6. The cruise ship, Holland America's Noordam, will dock at the following ports of call: Nassau, Bahamas; San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles; and Half Moon Cay, Bahamas. The event will feature drummer Ernie Adams, pianist Pete Barbutti, vocalist Clairdee and the multi-grammy-nominated Nnenna Freelon. The cost for a stateroom ranges from $1,750 for a large or standard inside cabin to $7,500 for a penthouse suite with excellent views. An additional charge of $300 is applied to the final cost to cover taxes, gratuities and port charges. A fuel surcharge of $25 is also required.

    Florida Smooth Jazz Cruise

    • The 2011 Florida Smooth Jazz Cruise will be on Valentine's day weekend.

      Departing from Port Carnaveral on February 11, the three-day 2011 Florida Smooth Jazz Cruise will be Valentine's Day-themed. The ship will be the Royal Caribbean's Monarch of the Seas, and, over a three-night period, it will berth in Nassau and CocoCay in the Bahamas. The ship features rock climbing, a spa, a fitness center and restaurants. Expected musicians include the Rippingtons, guitarist Steve Oliver and saxophonist Erly Thornton. An inside cabin with two twin beds costs $499.50 or $582, depending on availability. Outside cabins range in price from $642 to $827, and the Luxury Suite, which comes with a private balcony, is $1,217.
