Persian Gulf Cruises

The Persian Gulf is becoming an increasingly popular destination for tour companies due to its endlessly sunny and warm weather. Several different cruise companies provide cruises to and from the Persian Gulf to a variety of destinations, including Australia, Rome, and Singapore. The three most well-known are Royal Caribbean Cruises, Costa Cruise, and Seabourn.
  1. Royal Caribbean 7-Night Dubai Cruise

    • Royal Caribbean offers a 7-night cruise starting and ending in Dubai, visiting Muscat, Oman, Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.), Abu Dhabi, also in the U.A.E., Mina Sulman in Bahrain, and then returning to Dubai. The cruise takes place on the Brilliance of the Seas, part of Royal Caribbean's fleet of ships. Amenities on board include a rock-climbing wall, an Italian restaurant, a bar and grill, and a cafe. Several themed bar and lounges are throughout the boat, such as the boat-themed Schooner Bar, the Champagne Bar, serving champagne and other wines, and the Chops Grill, a steak house. The boat also has an indoor country club, day spa and fitness center. Several onshore activities are available in every port, including city tours of Dubai, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, and a tour of the east coast of the United Arab Emirates.

    Seabourn: Persian Gulf cruises

    • Seabourn offers several different cruises starting or ending in the Persian gulf, but none of the cruises stay strictly inside the Gulf. Some cruises start in Civitavecchia, Italy and make their way to Dubai or pass through Dubai on the way to Singapore. Others begin in Cairns, Australia and end in Dubai or go on to Rome. Still others start in Dubai and travel to Singapore.

The tours starting or ending in Italy or Australia and ending in Singapore or Rome take at least six weeks, while the Italy-to-Dubai, Australia-to-Dubai, or Dubai-to-Singapore trips take about three weeks. A host of shore excursions exist along the way in each one of these tours, with most of them stopping in at least Muscat, Oman.

Seabourn uses yachts and not full sailing vessels, usually with a little over 200 passengers on board at once. Yachts all have a spa, a pool, wireless Internet, a full gym, a casino, a lounge, and a club featuring nightly live performances.
