Casinos Near Buffalo, New York

The tourism-rich Niagara Falls area, including the economic center of Buffalo, New York to the south, is emerging as a gambling destination to complement its attraction to nature lovers and sightseers. The Ontario government has opened two casinos on the Canadian side of the Niagara River, and the Seneca Nation of Indians operates two on the U.S. side.
  1. Buffalo Creek Casino

    • The Senecas in July 2007 opened a temporary casino in downtown Buffalo with 135 Class II electronic bingo machines and a snack bar. Later, the tribe began constructing a 90,000-square-foot casino and 22-story hotel it planned to open in spring 2010. The new facility was to feature 2,000 electronic bingo machines, 45 gaming tables, 22 guest suites, four restaurants and a full-service spa. Plans for the 9-acre property also called for a 3-acre public park and a 2,500-space parking facility. The tribe said more than 1,000 employees would earn about $38 million annually once the property was fully operational.
