Flight tours operate year round, range in duration from 20 minutes to four hours and also include overnight stays on Victoria Island. City tours also take in the sights of the Coastal Mountain Range and the outer islands along the coast. Operators also have fly and dine, whale watching and glacier tour options.
Float plane tours operate right out of Vancouver next to the Convention Center and from other locations such as Horseshoe Bay and Coal Harbour. Tours often stop halfway, with destinations including Victoria Island (Butchart Garden packages), Whistler, fly-in fishing areas and secret alpine lakes. Sights include the Coastal Mountain Range, the Pacific Ocean and waterways, whales and Vancouver.
The float planes depart and land on waterways. The most common types of planes used on tours are 1950s-era six-seater Beavers and the 18-seater twin-enginerd Otters. Float planes are abundant in Vancouver and reduce travel time significantly while allowing maximum viewing of landscape and attractions.
