Innkeepers Kathy and Samantha Williams have furnished both of the private accommodations with lovely antiques and a fully-equipped kitchen, including food staples such as condiments, baking items, coffee, tea, milk and juice so guests can prepare their own meals. The farm grows organic produce in the garden, which you can pick and enjoy in your private kitchen. If you're traveling with horses, you can board them in their deluxe barn. The Shenandoah National Park is nearby, along with hiking trails leaving from the inn and snow sledding in the winter.

    Elmo's Rest

    • Elmo's Rest is a fifth-generation farm operated by Nancy and Danny Johnson in Bedford, Virginia. With a wide variety of animals including cattle, pigs, goats, sheep, turkeys and chickens and 250 acres of orchards and farm land, you'll experience what it's like to live on a real farm. The farmhouse, dating from the 1900s, provides comfortable accommodations including three bedrooms, a den and dining room, a nursery and a porch. You provide the food, but the house has a fully-equipped kitchen stocked with the basics. If you choose to dine out, restaurants and fast food are close by. Pond fishing, nature trails, hiking and apple picking plus the onsite Peaks of Otter Winery will keep you as busy or as relaxed as you wish. The Blue Ridge Parkway is about eight miles away, and the National D-Day Memorial is seven miles away.
