The Center for Cultural Interchange is a non-profit international education exchange organization which seeks to promote cultural understanding and academic development. CCI offers adults the opportunity to participate in foreign exchange work and home-stay programs in 30 countries. The independent home-stay program is available for people aged 14 and older. Some home-stays allow couples to participate. You set your own start and end dates, and stays can range from one to four weeks. Currently CCI also offers a work exchange program for adults in New Zealand. The fee is $950, which includes a New Zealand work and a holiday visa, job assistance, medical and accident insurance, airport shuttle, organized social functions and two-night hostel accommodations with breakfast. You must be 18 to 30 years old to participate. The program can last up to one year. Airfare and housing costs are also not provided.

AmeriSpan's Language & Fun program offers adults the opportunity to study a language while enjoying a variety of organized activities. AmeriSpan pairs language instruction with activities such as surfing, golf, travel excursions, wine-tasting, culinary classes, dance classes, art classes and more. The goal is total immersion in the language and culture while having fun. Additionally, there are special programs for participants 50 years or older. There are no minimum language requirements for most programs. Anyone 18 or older is eligible, except in cases when there is an alcohol-related age restriction. AmeriSpan offers a variety of foreign exchange programs in over 30 countries.

Cross Cultural Solutions offers volunteer programs for adults in many different countries with stays ranging from two to 12 weeks. Cross Cultural Solutions also has a special Insight Abroad program, which is a one-week volunteer program. Placements are assigned throughout the world. CCS also provides exchange volunteers a home base, where you’ll have the chance to interact with staff and fellow volunteers while having a safe and clean place to relax. CCS provides all of your daily needs and accommodations including transportation, clean shared occupancy rooms and basic amenities like linens, hot and cold running water and access to a telephone. Internet access is within walking distance. Home-cooked meals and snacks are provided daily, some in the local tradition, as well as plenty of bottled water and fruit juices that are safe to drink. CCS has programs in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America.
