Galena Oktoberfest is the first Saturday of October on the Eastside Riverfront. Since it started in 2007, Oktoberfest has raised thousands of dollars for the Galena Lions Club; admission proceeds go to charity. The festival includes a Ceremonial Tapping of the Keg, live music, polka dancing and a wiener dog race. Kids can have their faces painted, decorate pumpkins and play games. When you're thirsty or hungry, enjoy beer, wine, soda and food provided by local German restaurants.
