Swiss summers are generally mild and pleasant, making it the peak season for outdoor recreation.

• Daytime Temperatures: Average 20°C – 25°C (68°F – 77°F) in the lowlands and major cities (Zurich, Geneva, Bern). Alpine valleys are cooler; southern Ticino can be warmer, Mediterranean-style.
• Nighttime Temperatures: Drop to around 10°C – 14°C (50°F – 57°F), even in July. Always pack a light jacket.
• Rainfall: Summer is the wettest season; afternoon thunderstorms are common in the mountains. June is often the rainiest month.
• Daylight: Long days—sunset after 9:00 PM in late June—maximize hiking and sightseeing time.
