Electricity Infrastructure in Antarctica: Power Lines and Alternatives

Antarctica has very few traditional power lines. Most research stations rely on diesel generators for electricity. Some stations experiment with wind turbines and solar panels, but these are supplemental due to the extreme weather, which makes building and maintaining overhead lines impractical.
