Does England have a lumber industry?

England does have a lumber industry, albeit on a much smaller scale compared to some other countries. England imports a significant amount of its timber from overseas and also harvests domestically grown wood species.

England has a mix of coniferous and broadleaf forests. Some common tree species cultivated for timber production include Oak, Ash, Beech, Scots Pine, Douglas Fir, Western Hemlock, and Sitka Spruce.

The English forestry commission manages most forestry operations and regulates sustainable practices to ensure continued economic and ecological benefits of the lumber industry. England does export some of its specialty timbers for high-end products.
