What is Benin art made out of?

Benin art is primarily known for its exquisite bronze sculptures and other metalwork, although it also includes wooden carvings, ivory, and terracotta works. The bronzes are mostly composed of copper, lead, zinc, and tin, with the exact composition varying depending on the period and the specific piece. Gold and silver were also occasionally used, but were considered more precious and were more often used for ceremonial objects.
