What did Japan benefit from the Treaty of Kanagawa?

Extraterritorial rights. Japan granted the United States extraterritorial rights, meaning that Americans in Japan would be subject to American law, not Japanese law.

Trading rights. Japan also granted the United States trading rights, allowing Americans to trade in certain ports in Japan.
