Oxygen Bars in India

Starting in the late 1990s, as the oxygen bar craze made its way across the globe, India was not to be left behind. Businesses selling a "pure" breathing experience opened up in Delhi, Mumbai and other Indian cities.

In India, oxygen bars came and went over the years, eventually finding their place in the alternative health and spa scene. This list includes bars and spas that offer the "pure oxygen" breathing treatments. Call ahead before trying to hunt them down, however, because locations and operations are subject to change.
  1. The Orange Oxygen Centre

    • In 2001 two physicians opened the Orange Oxygen Centre in Hyderabad. It was the first business of its kind in the city, following the lead of similar establishments in Delhi and Bangalore. Visitors are welcome for walk-ins or by appointment, to breath and relax in the middle of this hard-working city.

    Breathe02

    • Breathe02 was the first oxygen bar to open in Mumbai. Like many other O2 bars in India, it was started by a physician who believes in the long-term benefits of breathing pure oxygen. Sensory deprivation and clean air are in demand in this town, as a respite from the heat and hustle of the city. The address is somewhat hard to pin down; patrons advise that visitors ask around on the street the first time they try to locate Breath02.
