Most of the summer--December to March--is considered the "wet season," as this is most often when rain will fall due to thunderstorms or tropical lows. The remainder of the year is typically dry.

    Features

    • Camping is allowed in Wolfe Creek Crater National Park. The park is reached from the Tanami Road from Halls creek and an access road. The access road is gravel, so conventional vehicles can only use it during the dry season. Activities include sightseeing, photography, walking, nature studies and the view from the rim of the crater has been described as a "must." There is no fresh water available in the park, so visitors must bring plenty of water and keep it at hand at all times.
