How was Jamaica created?

The island of Jamaica was formed over millions of years as a result of the collision and subduction of tectonic plates. The Caribbean Plate and the North American Plate collided, causing the island of Jamaica to be uplifted. The island then experienced volcanic activity, which further shaped its landscape.
