All tourists to the country must carry a valid passport valid for the next six months after the date of entry. You will need to have a return or onward travel ticket and documents in your possession when you arrive. Visas are not required for visits of up to one month. If you decide to extend your stay beyond one month, you may apply to the Immigration Department to obtain a valid Visa. Vaccinations and documentation of vaccinations are not a requirement. Like many Caribbean countries, there is a strong British influence and leniency for UK Nationals, but they must also have a passport and return travel documentation. A Visa is necessary for up to six months for those with British passports endorsed as British Overseas Territories Citizens or British Overseas Citizens.
There are several items considered duty free, but must be declared to customs. Travelers may bring up to 1 qt of wine or other spirits, up to 1/2 lb. of tobacco, up to 50 cigars and up to 200 cigarettes. The total amount of alcoholic beverages can not exceed 1 qt. Professional or occupational tools must be declared at customs.
Restricted items include narcotics, arms, ammunition and spear fishing equipment. Travelers are also forbidden from bringing camouflage clothing into the country. It is an offense for people of any age to wear camouflage. Licensed firearms are permitted pending declaration and an application submitted to the commissioner of police.
Although it is not required for entry into the country, travelers should have travel and medical insurance that includes evacuation by air ambulance. Vaccinations are not an entry requirement, but are recommended by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office because of the risk of Dengue fever and pandemic flu.
