Zion Country is located in eastern Jamaica, far from commercial tourism. If you are a nature lover or a hiker, this is the part of Jamaica you might be looking for. These eco-beach cabins are situated on a one-mile stretch of beachfront property surrounded by the Jamaican jungle. They are close to snorkeling, and you might even be able to catch a glimpse of a dolphin or a manatee. These cabins are nearer the locals than any commercial resort, and you can really experience what it is like to live in Jamaica. Free transportation to the surrounding waterfalls, called Reach Falls, is provided by the accommodation. Although you don't get as many amenities with cabins, you will get a sense of what it is like to live surrounded by rain forests. Zion Country offers four beach cabins, all with an oceanview and a fan in each room. The accommodation serves breakfast and dinner to guests, and visitors will also enjoy their on-site bar.
The Green Leaf cabins are situated on seven miles of beaches called Negril Beach. This area of Jamaica was discovered in the 1700s by pirates, but since then has been overtaken by locals and tourists alike. You can climb the 100 steps to the top of the Negril lighthouse to enjoy panoramic views of the entire area. Negril Beach is just below famous Montego Bay, so if heading there for shopping or a flight, stop at Negril's historic plantation houses along the way. Green Leaf offers a variety of cabins, the largest of which has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Green Leaf provides transportation by their shuttle bus to and from the airport, and, in addition, the bus is available for tours of Jamaica.
Situated on a coffee estate, these small cabin-esque cottages are in the middle of Jamaica's forests. If you like to hike or just enjoy being surrounded by exotic wilderness, these cottages offer views, trails and home-grown coffee. Blue Mountains is the highest mountain range in the Caribbean, reaching an altitude of up to 7,000 feet. Originally just a coffee farm called Lime Tree Farms, the husband and wife team who own this coffee paradise decided to build three cottages, which are rented to guests. The views aren't of beaches but of valleys, and visitors can hike to the top of Blue Mountain to get a view of neighboring Cuba. While in the mountains, many visitors enjoy bird-watching. The cottages offer attached baths with pay-as-you-go phone service.
