Where on earth are most coral reefs located?

Most coral reefs are located in tropical and subtropical waters between 30 degrees north and south of the equator. This region is known as the Coral Triangle and includes parts of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Papua New Guinea. The Coral Triangle is home to over 500 species of coral, making it the most diverse coral reef region in the world.
