The Sian Ka'an Wilderness Adventure takes visitors across lagoons, through mangrove forests and through wetlands to view the 330 bird species and the many land and aquatic animals that call this area home. Guides teach adults and children about this fragile ecosystem, including providing information on the Mayan Temple of Muyil in the reserve and the vegetation. The guide also takes families on a snorkeling tour of an underground river, and children can swim in the lagoon. After the adventure, travelers have lunch at the Don Cafeto restaurant in Tulum.

Visitors can watch trained dolphins or swim with manta rays, sea lions or dolphins. Other activities include snorkeling among the reefs, tubing and tobogganing into large swimming pools. The park is free for children under 3. The 18-acre water park features large slides, a children's park, a wave pool and a playground. The water park is geared toward younger children. Older children enjoy the Dolphinaris, where there are four programs that allow children and adults to get close to dolphins.
