Pick the bag that you will pack your items in. This should be a bag that you can carry, when fully laden. Examine your airline tickets for information on luggage size and weight restrictions. You might want to carry your electronic items; such as cameras and iPods in separate smaller hand baggage.
Pack your clothing for the trip. You are going to a hot destination so you should pack short pants, bathing suits, cover-ups such as sarongs, and airy shirts. It can be prudent to pack a sweater for the unlikely event of cold weather, or some long pants for dinner in the evening. If you are attending any events with a dress code, then you will need to pack the required clothes for the event. Include sandals or shoes suitable for the beach.
Pack sun protection. The Bahamas has a tropical climate, so you will need to protect against the sun. Include sunscreen, sunglasses and hats. Chapstick can also protect your lips from sunburn. It is a good idea to include more than one tube of sunblock, if your group will be splitting up at any time.
Pack anything you might require for sports or activities. These might include scuba diving gear, if you like to dive; cameras -- waterproof housings are a good idea for capturing the Bahamian underwater world -- waterproof pouches and golf clubs.
Pack your passport, traveling money, credit cards, mobile phone, iPod and a book to read. Other things you should consider, include relevant battery chargers and a small travel first aid kit for minor incidents.
