Determine a budget for your Atlantis vacation and work within that budget as you design your holiday.
Get a brochure from a travel agent or go online and download one to become familiar with the resort and what it offers.
Study the types of rooms and their prices. To stay within your budget, opt for a shorter stay in a more expensive room or take a more modest room for a longer stay. Atlantis has an array of choices, including simple guest rooms, suites, kitchenettes and condo-style with full kitchens. One-, two- and three-bedroom villas are also available.
Look for vacation specials, including off-season prices, and for group discounts for weddings and corporate events. The Atlantis website has links to specials on its homepage.
Book a flight to the islands once you have the dates confirmed for your accommodations. You must have a valid passport. Atlantis guests fly into Nassau International Airport, or NAS. To get from Nassau to Paradise Island, hire a taxi or rent a car to ride over the bridge between the islands. You can also take a ferry.
Consider the cost of meals when making your vacation plans. You can alternate between eating in one of the resort's 21 restaurants, enjoying light fare at one of its 17 bars and lounges, and cooking your own meals if your accommodations have a kitchen. You can also choose a meal plan.
Check out the activities at Atlantis and when they are available. Make spa, golf and other reservations before you leave home to ensure a spot. Take into account the activities that are free. You won't pay extra for the Aquaventure water park, The Dig and other marine habitats, swimming pools or the casino.
Make plans if your children are traveling with you. Sign them up for age-appropriate activities and day camps. Atlantis has Lego activities, a life-sized dollhouse and a pretend grocery store for preschoolers. Older kids can play video games, use the computer and learn new skills in arts and crafts.
