Whether you're preparing a school project about the Greek Island villages or are compiling a display for your travel agency's focus on the area, you'll find 220 island options available to feature on your design. Although it may be too much to combine for one poster, the Greek Islands may serve as your jumping-off point to explain culture, history and introduce your audience to a new, faraway version of life.

Instructions

    • 1

Log onto the Internet and read about the different Greek villages to get a feel for the theme of your poster; options include Heraklio, Agiaos Nikolaos-Elounda, Paxi, Kithira, Tzia and Lefkada. For one section of your poster board, draw an outline of all of the villages, coloring each with a different color to compare their shape and proximity to each other.

    • 2

Print out and glue images of traditional Greek food enjoyed on the islands, many of which have crossed the seas and become common in the United States, including olive oil, capers and distilled Ouzo.

    • 3

Draw or print out a picture of a whirlpool bath or hot tub, then write how the Greek hot springs compares to the American version. According to the Greek Islands website, bathing should be done on an empty stomach and in constantly flowing water, with no more than 15 to 20 minutes spend submerged. Hot springs are present on islands such as Kos, Nisyrois, Ikaria and Lesvos.

    • 4

Dab a dot of glue to the back of a penny, nickel, dime and quarter, and press them firmly onto the poster board. Below them, paste print-outs or hand-draw images of the more than 20 different coins found on the Greek islands, including ones from Sifnos, Kydonia, Knossos and Naxos.

    • 5

Add a detailed recipe, including photos of ingredients and if possible, the finished product, of a Greek specialty food, such as: souvlaki, moussaka, tzatiki, pastitsio, Easter cookies, marinated octopus, gemista, theeples, baklava or loukoumades.
