About Huatulco

Huatulco is a popular beach destination in the south of Mexico. In 2000, the region received International Green Globe Certification in recognition of its efforts to be environmentally responsible, Century 21 reported.
  1. Climate

    • The hottest month of the year is May with an average temperature of 86 degrees Fahrenheit, while December's average temperature of 73 degrees makes it the coldest. The most rain falls between the months of July and September, and the least falls from January to May, according to Geographia.

    Fiestas

    • The musical Festival Música por la Tierra takes place every May to raise money for environmental charities. According to the Pacific Coast of Mexico website, the Festival Las Aves en las Áreas Naturales Protegidas is held annually in October to feature educational events about the region's bird population.

    The National Park

    • The Parcque National boasts 9,000 species of plants and over 1,500 species of animals, birds, reptiles and amphibians.

    Fishing

    • Huatulco is a popular destination for fishing excursions, with expeditions departing from the cities of Santa Cruz, Tangolunda Bay and Bahía Chahué.

    Accommodations

    • Huatulco offers a variety of accommodations, from budget selections like Hotel Grifer to moderately priced selections like Huatulco Bed and Breakfast. There are also many luxury hotels and villas, such as the Hotel Camino Real Zaashila.
