Located in Woodstock, Billings Farm is an authentic dairy farm and museum, which offers tours and holds events that recreate 19th-century farm life. During Thanksgiving weekend, the staff at Billings Farm dress up in 19th-century costumes and prepare a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Guests attending the event may also participate in a wagon ride.
Every weekend in November, Billings Farm provides wagon ride tours from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The tours introduce guests to aspects of daily farm life, including the milking of the herd, crop rotation and feed production. Guests also get to interact with farm animals such as sheep, horses, oxen and chickens. Admission is $12 for adults and free for Billings Farm and Museum members.
This festival gives high-school-age dancers from all over Vermont the opportunity to learn and practice the craft of dancing. The event comprises three elements: a series of workshops led by professional dancers, a closed session for dancers to perform and garner responses from other dancers, and a public performance. The event occurs at the Lyndon Institute, a preparatory school first founded in 1867.
