November Events in Wildwood, New Jersey

Wildwood, New Jersey, is located on the Jersey shore near the Delaware Bay. This area is known for its beaches, boardwalk and amusement park.   1. Veterans Day

    • Veterans Day is a national holiday that honors active and retired military personnel, and this holiday is observed on November 11. Wildwood's Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) Post 5491 hosts a Veterans Day Services event, usually starting at about 10:00 a.m. at the Veterans Monument. The Veterans Monument is located at the intersection of New York Avenue and Spruce Avenue. This is an annual event.

    Cheer Tech

    • Cheer Tech Island Championships takes place at the Wildwoods Convention Center, and it usually runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This is a cheerleading championship, and students compete on a 54-inch-long by 42-inch-wide spring floor. The competition is broken up by divisions, including the all-star, college, recreation, school and open division. As of 2011, the cost to enter the championship is $150 per team or $20 per all star. To view the competition, it costs $10 for children 10 and under and $15 for adults in 2011. Children 3 and under are free. Cheer Tech is sponsored by Spirit Brands.

    Elks Hoop Shoot

    • The Greater Wildwood Elks Lodge #1896 hosts a Elks Hoop Shoot, which is a foul shooting contest. This contest is open to children ages 8 through 13. You can register for the contest on the day of the event, usually between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., and the contest starts at 1:00 p.m. The event takes place on Central Avenue in downtown North Wildwood.

    Championship

    • The Cheer Tech American Rec and School Championships is a cheer competition, and this event takes place at the Wildwoods Convention Center, usually from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This competition is open to recreation and school programs that are part of the American Recreation and School Cheer Associates. Only members are allowed to compete in this championship. To view the event, it costs $10 for children 10 and under and $15 for adults, and children ages 3 and under are free in 2011. As of 2011, it costs $150 per team to enter the competition.
