  • Nearest Town: Shillong (state capital) ~20–30 km away.
  • Terrain: Hilly, subtropical highlands; part of the Khasi Hills.

Note on "Near Nepal"

Meghalaya does not border Nepal. The original answer incorrectly stated “near the border with Nepal.” Nepal is ~500 km west, separated by Bangladesh and Indian states. Kitnor is in the Khasi Hills, close to the Assam plains and Bangladesh border.

If visiting, base in Shillong and hire local transport for East Khasi Hills villages.
