Maine does not have extensive mountain ranges. Its highest point is Mount Katahdin (5,269 ft / 1,606 m) in Baxter State Park, northern Maine.
These peaks are part of the Longfellow Mountains, a subrange of the Appalachians, but are isolated rather than forming a continuous range.
