Northernmost Points in the Continental U.S.: Not Minnesota

Two distinct northernmost points:

  • Contiguous U.S. (Lower 48): Point Roberts, Washington (49°59′56″N) — a peninsula cut off by the 49th parallel boundary.
  • Entire continental U.S. (including Alaska): Point Barrow, Alaska (71°23′N) — but if "continental" excludes Alaska, it's Point Roberts.
  • Angle Inlet, Minnesota (49°22′N) is the northernmost point of the mainland contiguous U.S. (not an exclave), but Point Roberts is farther north.

"Continental U.S." usually means the 49 states on the North American continent (incl. Alaska); "contiguous" or "conterminous" means the Lower 48.
