Canadarago Lake, which is about three miles from Richfield Springs, offers clean, clear water with excellent fishing and public swimming areas. Picnic areas on Bakers Beach provide a place to enjoy a nice day out with family. The New York Department of Environmental Conservation reports that this lake is one of the cleanest and clearest in the state. The lake is stocked with a variety of species for your fishing enjoyment.
Meadow Links is a scenic and challenging 18-hole golf course in the hills above Otsego Lake. The gold course facilities include a natural grass tee driving range, practice greens, clubhouse and pro shop and riding cart, pull cart and club rentals. An events pavilion and sand volleyball court is adjacent to the course. The pavilion and court are available for picnics, parties or other events on a daily rental basis.

Cooperstown, which is only 17 miles southeast of Richfield Springs, offers a few more attractions. The town is home to the Baseball Hall of Fame museum and the Glimmerglass Opera, which is a nationally renowned company that dates to the '70s.
Richfield Springs' Main Street area is a national historic district. The area includes 76 buildings and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. This district has a tree-lined residential corridor dotted with nineteenth-century houses, a church and several hotels.
