Fishing Lodges on the Yukon River in Alaska

    • Yukon River Lodge is near Nowitna National Wildlife Refuge in central Alaska. The remote area is at the base of the Kokrines Hills. The lodge, which is powered mostly by solar panels, provides a wilderness experience for fishermen, as the owners of the lodge depend very little on electricity in their day-to-day routine. Anglers who visit the area can fish for Silver Salmon, King Salmon and Chum during the summer and fall. There is also season fishing for Sheefish and Arctic Grayling in the fall months. Yukon River lodge is accessible by boat and floatplane. Reservations can only be made via Skype or email.

    Anvik River Lodge

    • The Anvik River Lodge is located on a tributary of the Yukon River 450 miles north of Anchorage. Guests reach the lodge by private charter plane, the cost of which is included in the establishment's vacation packages. In addition to fishing for species such as Northern Pike and Pacific Salmon, guests may have opportunities to watch grizzly bears feeding on fish and teaching their cubs how to fish. Other frequently sighted wildlife includes eagles, ospreys, moose and wolves. Make reservations via phone or email. Meals are included and there is an exercise room on site.

    Yukon River Camp

    • Yukon River Camp in Fairbanks provides lodging, dining services, a gift shop, a gas station and an outfitter for vacationers. Leashed pets are welcome at the establishment. It is located along the river at the Yukon River Bridge on the Dalton Highway, which gives sport fishers a convenient base location. Showers are available for guests who do not stay overnight. Yukon River Camp has seasonal hours and is open from May to September.

    Slaven's Roadhouse

    • Slaven's Roadhouse is in the Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve near the Canadian border. The National Park Service maintains this two-story, log cabin, restored to its original condition from when it was built during Alaska's Gold Rush era. It is free to use and sleeping quarters are on a first-come first-serve basis. The cabin is only reachable by boat from the river. Fishermen and hunters use Slaven's Roadhouse due to its location along the Yukon River. There are other cabins nearby as well as RV sites.
