Cruise Ships That Sail From Port Canaveral, Florida

Port Canaveral sits on the east Coast of Florida between the towns of Merritt Island and Cocoa Beach. It is approximately 55 miles from Orlando, which is located in the middle of Florida between the two coasts. Carnival Cruises, Royal Caribbean International and Disney Cruises have ships that make Port Canaveral their year-round home port.
  1. Carnival Dream

    • The Carnival Dream cruises out of Port Canaveral on five-, seven- and nine-day cruises to the eastern or western Caribbean. The Dream first started cruising in September 2009 and can accomodate up to 3,646 passengers. Ship amenities include an outdoor, 22 ft. wide LED screen to show movies, concerts and sporting events, a water park with several slides, separate activity and retreat areas for kids, teens and adults and a casino.

    Carnival Sensation

    • The Carnival Sensation sails on three- and four-day cruises to the Bahamas and back. The Sensation can host up to 2,052 passengers. The features of the ship include a water park, video arcade, nine-hole miniature golf, Internet cafe and casino. The Sensation was launched in 1993 and fully refurbished in 2009.

    Freedom of the Seas

    • The Royal Caribbean Cruise ship Freedom of the Seas offers seven-day cruises from Port Canaveral to either end, western or eastern, of the Caribbean. The ship was launched in 2006 and has a capacity of 3,634 passengers. Features on the Freedom of the Seas include a wave surf pool, whirlpool hot tubs that extend 12 feet out over the side of the ship, rock climbing wall, miniature golf, wi-fi and cell phone connectivity, boxing ring and a casino.

    Monarch of the Seas

    • The Royal Caribbean Monarch of the Seas sails on three- and four-day cruises to the Bahamas. The Monarch of the Seas can carry 2,744 passengers and first sailed in 1991. The ship was refurbished in 2003. Onboard features include a rock climbing wall, basketball court, coffee house, sushi bar, two outdoor pools and a casino.

    Disney Magic

    • The Disney Magic cruises on six- to 14-day voyages to all parts of the Caribbean. The Magic can carry up to 2,400 guests. The ship was built in Italy and launched in 1998. The ship features include three pools, one for adults only, a 765 ft. long water coaster, and a wide range of clubs and activities for children and teens. Disney cruise ships feature open air deck parties with dancing and entertainment from Disney characters.

    Disney Wonder

    • The Disney Wonder is an identical sister ship to the Disney Magic. The Wonder was launched in 1999. Out of Port Canaveral, the Wonder sails on three-, four- and five-day cruises to the Bahamas. Once a year, the Disney Wonder makes a Panama Canal cruise to Los Angeles, California.
