How to Camp at Short Sands in York Beach, Maine

Seventy miles north of Boston, Mass., the small community of York Beach in Maine has campgrounds, shops and a theme park. The area shares two beaches called Short Sands and Long Sands. Long Sands beach is accessible by a short shuttle ride out of York Beach, but the best camping is found in York Beach proper, steps from Short Sands beach. Two campgrounds offer tent and RV camper sites to fit your needs.

      Contact Burnettes Trailer and Tent Area at 207-363-4756 to reserve a spot for your tent or trailer. The campground is open from mid-May to mid-October, can accommodate RVs up to 35 feet and offers stationary trailer campers for rent. These campers include water, cable, sewer and electricity.

      Contact York Beach Camper Park at 207-363-1343 to reserve a camper, pop-out RV or tent space. Open throughout the year, this facility offers showers, a laundromat, a dumping station and a camp store for the essentials.
