The town of York, Maine has its own little sections from York Harbor to Cape Neddick. There are many things to do and see but if you are looking for lodging it's best to take a ride down Long Beach Avenue. This section of York Beach is home to a few cottage rentals, but keep in mind the styles vary--some are sparsely decorated, while others are a home away from home. However, all offer panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.
For nearly five decades, the owners of The Grand View Inn & Cottages have welcomed guests to their guest rooms and cottages. When it comes to swimming guests have two options, the ocean or a heated indoor pool. Vacationers can rent either a two or three bedroom cottage. Each is furnished with a double bed in each room, bath with a stall shower, living and dining area complete with a full kitchen, dining table, color cable television, fireplace, sleep sofa and private yard. Cottages are rented from June 16 through Sept. 8 on a weekly basis. Prices range from $900 to $1,200.

All that separates visitors staying at the Sea Latch from the beach is a small, two lane road which does not obstruct the view of the ocean. Cottage rentals cost from $890 to $1,180 during the peak summer season. The Sea Latch does not furnish towels, so you should pack both a beach towel and shower towel. However, visitors won't have to travel far for their morning cup of coffee since there's a coffee shop on the premises.

Take your pick from one of two cottages for rent at the Sands By The Sea, located along Ocean Avenue. Both cottages have laundry service, as well as a kitchen. Rent is cheap in the off-season, just $269 to $299 a week but when the summer kicks off the rates jump to $1,700 to $1,900 a week. Visitors won't have to worry if they forget their beach pail and shovel in their room because its just a short walk between the ocean and the cottages.
