Peru is the third largest country in South America and is comprised of highlands, jungle and coast. The democratic country offers scenic beauty, museums, festivals and cultural activities.
  1. Requirements

    • Depending on which country your passport comes from, you may or may not need a visa to enter Peru. Most Western countries, European countries and Asian countries do not require entry documents. Your passport needs to be valid for at least six months longer than the intended stay in Peru.

    Language

    • The native language in Peru is Spanish. It is a good idea to learn basic Spanish or take a pocket dictionary when traveling to ease any potential language barriers. Most tourist areas will have someone who speaks English.

    Transportation

    • Lima International Airport is the major point of entry into Peru. You can reach Lake Titicaca by boat and ferry. Land travel in Peru is quite extensive and reasonable with buses, which have first and second classes. You can also travel by train in Peru. If you dare to rent a car in Peru, your foreign driving license is valid for up to six months.
