Sir Francis Drake circumnavigated the globe on his galleon, the Golden Hind, in the late 16th century. Kids might not care much about that, but they'll love climbing aboard the full-size replica of the ship docked at Pickford's Wharf. Don't forget to check the kid sleepovers and pirate party opportunities.

It is Hyde Park and it is time for Winter Wonderland. The event is free but reservations must be made for ice skating at Central London's largest rink. The Giant Observation Wheel has heated pods to ride in while the family views the Winter Wonderland from on high. Kids will meet Father Christmas there in his own Santa Land to put a bug in his ear. Plenty of rides are to be found along with winter-warming sweets and food.
