Canton, Ohio, is best known as the home of the National Professional Football Hall of Fame, but the hall of fame isn't the only attraction for families visiting Canton. The city is full of museums, activities and other sites of interest for children and their families.
The McKinley Museum, named after the 25th president of the United States, holds many interesting features for children. Besides the history involving President McKinley, this museum has a exhibit entitled Discover World that is geared toward children and has information on science, space and history. If craving a treat, Heggy's Nut Shop at 3200 Tuscarawas St. is a great stop for the kids. This shop features all things nuts including peanut butter, peanut brittle, roasted nuts and caramel corn. They also have a selection of famous Heggy's chocolate candy.
Harry London Candy is also located in Canton at 5353 Lauby Road. Not only can you sample some of this company's delicious candy, but you can tour the factory and see how they make their famous buckeyes, London mints and chocolate pretzels.
