Mount Snowdon: Highest Peak in Wales and Southern Britain

Mount Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) is the highest mountain in Wales and the highest point in the British Isles outside the Scottish Highlands. Its summit reaches 1,085 meters (3,560 feet) above sea level.

While Ben Nevis in Scotland is the UK's highest peak overall, Snowdon holds the distinction of being the tallest mountain in both Wales and England (since no English peak surpasses it) and the highest in the UK south of the Scottish Highlands. It is a major landmark in Snowdonia National Park and a popular hiking destination.
