Washburn County was founded in 1883 and is known to locals and tourists as "The Natural Place." In addition to cabin retreats like Northern Traditions, Washburn County is home to six golf courses, the "World's Largest" Muskie hatchery, a Museum of Woodcarving, and the Spooner Rodeo. During the winter months, visitors can enjoy cross-country ski trails or over 250 miles of snowmobile trails.
The Loon Lodge sleeps up to 11 guests with three bedrooms and two and a half baths. Deer Hallow sleeps up to 18 guests with five bedrooms and three and a half baths. Deer Hallow also has a large, open great room with a stone fireplace, screened-in porch, deck overlooking the lake, and the Deer Hallow dock just a short walk from the cabin.
Cabin rentals include one power fishing boat per cabin. Kayaks, canoes and bicycle boats are available as well. Loon Lake, where all boats are docked, has a large population of walleye in addition to other fish species such as large mouth bass and bluegills. The Northern Traditions site has a fish cleaning facility and barbecue grill for preparing your fresh-caught fish. Guests can also enjoy swimming in the lake, a children's playground, and five nearby restaurants that are accessible by boat. Reservations for both cabins are available year-round. Special winter rates are available, and winter rental prices are discounted in relation to number of nights stayed.
